Default Need Help!!! 1.8 ecu running a 1.6 car? FM LINK

Hey, i have purchased a car already built. it has a MK1 link ecu with software 116m0125, im going from the manual i have that has that code from 2001... the car has a gt25, intercooled etc, i think 440cc injectors, 225 fuel pump. etc etc...

i am hooking up my aem uego wideband to help me tune the car, my neutral switch doesnt appear to be working as i only got * when at idle in neutral prior to this, i was following the wideband install page, got a new connector to do the wiring from the junkyard today, take the ecu out to Cut the plastic on the bottom to move the 2P and 2R, flip over the ecu, looks nothing like the diagram notice some writting on the bottom,

Link 1996 MX5 1.2V, also the Connector is Grey instead of yellow?!?!? even tho they have a B61P cover on it. im going to assume its a 96 ecu...? so given the fact somehow my car is running off this ecu... i dont know how.. but which wideband install should i do? granted my engine, and as far as i know my wiring harness is 1.6!

Thanks for any help given.

Brandon

can i just run the signal wire from my wideband, into the engine bay, and clip it to where the stock o2 sensor goes to the ecu? then change my setting from 4 wire oem sensor to WB02???

Thanks

116Mxxxxx designates a MK1 1.6 Link PCM. I'm not sure if it will have wideband capability as some of the oldest ones didn't. You might want to contact FM next week and see if they can update it to the newest chip. The newer models had WB integration and knock sensors.

is it possible they put that pcm onto a 1996 ecu board? because it says that on the ecu itself, and the clip is grey.

I'd imagine you have a MK1 1.6 Link with original date of manufacture in 1996. I don't get the confusion on your end.

I'm not saying it's impossible to put a later link on an earlier car. It happened infrequently with the obi-wan link since it was superior to the earlier models. But there would be super obvious wiring changes.
