Lc-1 Shutting off while driving.
Just started to have an issue with my LC-1. Was driving today on a hwy and suddenly my LC-1 went to full rich. I looked at the led and it was blinking. After i pulled over i checked that it does 8 blinks (i am pretty sure thats what it was) and the Error code for 8 blinks is either bad sensor of overheated sensor.
After i restarted the car it went back to normal but after a bit more of driving on a highway it turned off again. The EGTs are around 1400 (measured before turbo at 3rd cylinder) on a highway and i was running at about 14.7-15.3. I dont have a heat sink around the sensor. Could it be overheating?
And another question i have is what is good timing for cruising? I think my timing is too advanced at cruising right now.

I've had the same problem, my lc-1 gauge just jumps around from normal reading to like high 7's low 8s and just flips back and forth between the numbers, the LED stays solid the whole time though? Then it was at a point where it just blinked full rich but the LED stayed solid. I called innovate and they basically just said they didnt know what to tell me? I thought maybe it was overheating, but I have the sensor mounted in a heatsink bung that comes with it from innovate? never had any problems with the sensor for about 3 months, until I went to 10psi. The controller itself is heatwrapped and has a heatshield guarding it.

My lc1 is doin this same horseshit. It'll work fine if I cold start the car, but once I restart when fully warmed it, sometimes it'll just stay totally rich. It's hit or miss. I could drive the car for a week straight and it won't do it, then one day it'll do it all day long,

Mine's doing it too. Started doing it during a dyno run a few months ago and periodically jumps to full rich 21.9 the acts normal between random jumps. No led flashes. Re-calibration did not change anything. I'll get a new sensor if it gets worse. Seems to be ok except for the random jumps...

I talked to the guys at Innovate, he told me that if you continue to have problems and want to replace the sensor, he told me to go to the auto parts store (advance, vatozone etc..) and get an o2 sensor from a newer model VW. Just to ask for a late model VW with 5 wire o2 sensor. Apparently its the same 5 wire bosch sensor and uses the same exact connector as the LC-1 controller, he said its exactly what they use and is plug n play, just needs a normal "new sensor" calibration. He said they average around $50 for one vs $70-80 from innovate
