The difference is that i already have a few of these motors and have made the power. It's just not in a Miata. Yet.

I'm no stranger to utterly stupid projects. I'm building an Escort right now.

'Sup?

"all those other people" that said they'd have 400+ in a miata, much less 400+ at ridic low rpm.

And we all know you have a billion projects that make a billion horsie powerz. Not a single f is given. We want to see you do it in a miata

I'd like to see it in a Miata, too. Patience. At the moment, i have a billion projects making not much power.

Also: Learn2F2.

its like a 1980s v8 without the low-end and a turbo curve that would do nothing but cause wheels to spin and a top-end that would do nothing to recover from the loss of traction...

Ehh... that was a stock 200k mile unopened motor with an undersized exhaust. It was tired. I'm fairly certain i can keep a large amount of that torque to redline with some minor tweaks, instead of literally losing half of it.

But what you're saying is that the motor on that dyno, would be REALLY AWESOME with a 6spd and a 4.3, right?

lol PHAIL.

You actually did the opposite of impressing us with the plot.

Hopefully your next one lives up to all your hype.

I said it made torque. It made torque. Be impressed.

I'm not expecting anyone to be impressed with a motor built on 60s technology at best.

All i know is that it makes my BP look like suck.

I think the dyno plot is limp dick, and since you basically threw the 400tq number into our faces like 1000 times by now I guess I was expecting something cool rather than a vertical shot up to 400 then a droop off where it actually matters. And the worst thing is that its in a FWD, where its GUARRANTEED to be even more useless since like brainy said: it will spin, then when it hooks up have nowhere near the torque. fail/fail.

But

I am impressed with all your swaps/cars/etc. Don't get me wrong. Pretty badass stable of cars actually.

Ew. Don't be. There's not a whole lot i'd like to do more than just get rid of all of them save for the Cherokee and start over. Unfortunately, that makes pretty much zero financial sense and i'm doomed to continue just randomly flailing my arms and tools around in an effort to be satisfied. (Which, you know... makes tons of sense.)

As for the dyno... i'll be doing some testing of my own come spring. There's a few stupid blatantly obvious things to be done to that motor that either 1) nobody ever does or 2) they do it, then never dyno, that would massively help out it's premature ejaculation problem.

I'm guessing sohc+torque focused cam = that.

At least that's exactly the case on the sohc big turbo scoobs I've seen: insane torque spike in the midrange, then flacid ***** up top.

I'll also take "Valve Float" for $400, Alex.

Also: 12" intake runners.

And: Smallish ports.

The cam itself is surprisingly aggressive for a stock cam, but i won't be using it. The head itself can flow somewhat similar numbers to the FE3.

Found the results of getting the MX6 on the scales!

She's a front-heavy bitch, but... entirely decent otherwise. Half tank of fuel, driver in the car. There's an easy 100lbs of low-hanging fruit to take out, and i'm giving thought to losing some weight myself.
