Default Which turbo?

Hey guys just looking for some opinions,
As far as the engine goes its a built 1.6L, .020 over Weisco pistions, eagle H-beams, stock valve train, etc. etc. BEGi cast manni, BEGi dp that im extending the seperated gas side on, dp back 3in exhaust.

As for the question im currently debating on which turbo i should get to be capable of 350 hp..... its between a godspeed 2871 and a godspeed 3076. what should i do? Im concerend that the 3076 is going to be extreemly laggy and the 2871 might not get me quite there. Ive also been considering a 50 shot of nowazzzz to help with lag?? and of course water meth.
what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Mike

Ps: car is mostly a street car...

Go with a Genuine Garrett 2871 and that should get you there. You have a built motor, there is absolutely no reason to go with a chinacharger.

As of right now china's what im looking at local track opens up next month... which means id like for it to be done soon enough for me to get it tuned for lower boost

I'd go with a neither of those. The 2870 godspeed turbos seem to have a hard time making 350hp, some do but they are running A LOT of boost. Also we have seen some inconsistencies with that turbo on here as far as power goes.

18psi runs the 3076, he really likes it and he says the quality is pretty top notch and I believe him.

However, I have to agree with Shuiend. The price on the GT Garretts is starting to come down and you can find them for a very reasonable price. Finding one used is also easy if you just look around. The GT Garretts are super durable and I've had friends who've had well over 50k miles on theirs with no issues.

I have been pricing a new 2871 and have found them for under a grand including the shipping. Also, a friend sent me a link to a broken disco potato with perfect housings for 150 bucks, that with a new CHRA for 350 and you have a brand new GT Garrett for 500~. The deals are out there, just need to look around.

Good luck and enjoy your car! Sounds like you have a top notch build going on.

Godspeed 3076. It's not like you're spending $1000 on it so it's not that big of a gamble. 18psi has great spool on his.

If you have the money to blow on a genuine, do that. Obviously.
If you need something to hold you over and/or willing to take your chances with a knockoff, then from experience I can tell you I love mine and so far its held up like a champ. Pretty much all there is to it.

MustangMike, Do you have the engine management squared away?

If you have not done so, before doing any mods install be it a MS or whatever and learn to tune like it is before anything else. If you have done so just disregard my last...

Take many pictures, looking forward to your Miata build thread, good luck!

By the way, any pics of that Mustang?
