Default TurboSmart BOV and compressor flutter

I just installed a new turbosmart BOV to replace my bosch bypass valve. It kicks butt and the sound is just right. But just a quick question about these BOV's. If I let off the throttle at or under 6psi I can hear the turbo fluttering. Is that is okay? I already have the BOV set to the softest setting I can.

My GFB BOV does that if I let off between 0-6 psi. Assuming that is normal.

Almost fixed it completely. I took it apart and oiled up the piston and O-rings a lot with some Mobile 1 10w30 in order to get a better vac seal. I think they should have machined a groove for an O-ring on the piston so it would never leak. It's working about 50% better. Still a little bit of compressor surge. I just read on their website that it works best on engines above 2000cc's around 14 psi of boost. That would have been more helpfull if they had put that on the box so I could have known at the store! Maybe I can get a weaker spring for this.

Hi Cookie Monster, which model of turbosmart bov do you have? I'm thinking of buying one for my turbo project and need info and feedback about turbosmart kompact dual bov and manual boost controllers, standard one and "in cabin" types.

So long, Ben.

I had to cut a little over an inch of the spring off and bend it flat at the end to make it soft enough to work properly. I would buy a tial for sure if I had to do this again. It's a turbosmart supersonic.
