Default FPR/Vacuum port

I've been thinking over this more and more recently, and thought I might as well ask. Searching got me close, but no definite answer.

I swapped a 1.8 with a 99 head into my 92. The FPR ended up at the front of the fuel rail since I used the 99 fuel rail. My memory on this is really foggy, but I have a feeling that was the only place I could mount it. Don't think you could mount it on the rear of the rail, I could be completely wrong though.

I've been reading that the vacuum at the front of the intake manifold is turbulent and how some people have problems when they route their MAP to the port by the throttle body. That port is where my FPR gets its vacuum. Originally its mounted to the port near the rear of the manifold if I remember correctly (and it seems like everyones is like that). Is there any disadvantage to having your FPR routed to a turbulent vacuum port? It seemed like a really obvious place to route it to since it was right there. I havn't noticed any problems but was wondering if anyone else has?
