Default ACL race bearings I ordered for my engine build came stacked...

I ordered ACL race bearings for my rods and main, but you can see the last 2 bearings are completely stacked to each other. are those 2 bearings still useable or do these need to be returned?

Aren't the top 2 also stacked together? Or is that just a really weird angle?

I think that's the vinyl playing tricks. You can count 8 halves with the stacked ones on bottom

Call ACL to confirm, but I can't see that being a problem.

I called them, they were already closed. I did send them an email and will try to call again tomorrow.

Mean while, would it be not safe to use since either the top or the bottom one has bent out of shape?

Won't make a bit of difference unless they're kinked.

As long as they "snap" into the rod/cap you will be fine.

Look for stress marks in the bearing face, if none. go on with it.

Also check for burrs, or missing facing on the bearings tht got wedged at the parting line. Bearing half #2 and #8 in the package.

Email from ACL:

"Can I suggest that you:

1 Gently ease the shells apart
2 Check for scratches on the bearing ID and ODs
3 When fitting the bearings into the rod halves ensure there is sufficient retention pressure to hold the bearings in place.

If Ok then these bearings will operate as designed. "

I opened the wrap and test fit them on the rod halves and they look like they will work.
