Default Engine doesn't idle up

I have a weird issue on 1.6L.

When I turn the a/c on it doesn't idle up. A/C blows cold. but it sometimes kills car.

Any Ideas.

How does it idle with the A/C off? Add a bit of load and see if it tries to compensate. The idle air controller is in charge of the idle up of course. Take a look and see if it's gunked up in there. Could have gone bad too.

Add 5spd and clutch peddle.

Engine misses at idle. The car had sat for a year. I Got it running, new gas, plugs, wires.
As soon as you get it to 2000 rpms. it runs smooth.

I think there is a small exhaust leak that is heard, but not able to place. There is no white on metal. And you can listen every where around mani with a tube. and nothing. I had it on two lifts at two shops. The exhaust guys or me couldn't place it.

I know a exhaust leak could make the miss. as well as a clogged injector.

We tried to clean the IAC last week. It didn't seem to help.

I guess we need to pull it completely off......

Check the static timing, the cps, and the crank woodruff key way. If the timing gets too far off you could get misses as well as lack of power to run the A/C load. I would also pull the EFI fuse and all of the plugs and wires. Let them rest on the cam cover and turn the key. See if you get four good sparks.

verify you're at 8° timing (pretty sure the autos go back to 8), and with TEN and GND still jumped, then reset the idle speed mechanically back to 850rpm before you remove the jumper.

changed the iac, car runs much better. But I cannot get the idle to go under. 1100. And when a/c is turned on, or put in gear idle drops to 400 or it dies.

Do you think something is wronge with computer?

Crazy thing.. You can hear exhaust leak out of car. But nothing is felt, nor able to place sound undercar.
I guess its time to tighten the exhaust mani.

Didnt get to check timming. But its not low. if anything its high. Thing runs almost like a five speed. It barks second.

When I jumped ten and ground. It didnt seem to change anything.....

If timming wasnt advancing, it would be a turd right?

This thing is a pain....

Ok, I've read that post from miata.neta few times.

The post is devoted to the iac bla bla......I replaced it with one that works off my turbo car.

He states there is a rmp sensor and temp sensor. I have a spare motor and would be more than happy to just swap sensors. is it the front or back sensor for temp?

and where is rpm sensor.......is he talking about tps?
