Default Broken metal in engine bay

91 miata 1.6l begi turbo setup with td04 turbo MS2, with wideband.

All of a sudden my car isn't making boost, but vacuum is unaffected.

It idles rough and the engine shakes. I checked all over the engine bay and found what seems to be where something metal broke off of my engine.

I'm not sure what it is, help would be appreciated.

For some reason my image won't appear in the thread, so I posted a link to it below.

Do you have an EWG?

(Better question: Is that the EWG laying on your motor mount?)

Haha a missing ewg would cause lack of boost.

Do you have any idea what would cause an external wastegate to rupture like that? Also, can I just purchase a new ewg and bolt it onto the spot where the old one broke?

You aren't bolting anything back on to anything, friend. It's time to take the car to a competent professional with a welder.

Is it just me or does it look like the wastegate was making contact with the steering shaft?

I believe I once made a comment at some point about routing the BOV into the air vent so it blows off in your face like hot ***. Or something along those lines.

I like the potentially lethal aspects of doing it with EWG though.
