Default Testing a 99+ cam sensor

So just finishing the forged build VVT swap into my smurf. Went trough and did all my pre start calibrations . No signal for the cam sensor.......Checked my freshly made wire harness and it looks like I reversed the positive and negative to the sensor . Corrected but still no signal. So the question is did I cook the sensor and is there a way to test the sensor itself ? For what it's worth it's all plugged into a Hydra 2.7 , I know , I know.....

Update , wiring was good as originally configured. The new to me original sensor appears to be dead . Swapped in a spare and the car now runs ! Cue the happy dance
