No drain hole is plain. Thread dimensions are for the top where the bowl screws in.

I'm confused, I thought you had bought ones with the little schrader valve looking thing for the drain, those are threaded in?

**** got confusing real fast. That bowl looks exactly the same as the one I have. I wonder if the filters are actually any different, or if its all bullshit.

I thought we were sizing a drain plug for that shrader thingie.

So how are you holding it closed? It looks like an auto vent one, does that spring push the drain plunger open when there's no pressure in the bowl?

yup

tada!

flipped the spring to the outside, and found a circlip that fit the barb fitting. if its not enough spring pressure, I can move the clip to the next barb.

I sucked on it as hard as I could and it didnt pull the spring open, but to be sure, we really need aidan to suck on it.

That looks like a good solution swapping the spring. All I did was use two rubber washers to pull down on the barb, compressing the O ring. The E clip and washers pull the barb-like drain out and seals it.

Edit: Aidan don't you have the HUSKY unit? Not sure how the newer ones are built, but the PrimeFit filter uses a Philips to secure it and my old old (pre-2008) HUSKY unit's filter was threaded on by itself.

Get a real good close up of the element. 5 vs 40 should be evident.
