Default Different filter sock on new Walbro 190hp a problem?

Can anybody confirm whether or not I need to be concerned about the difference between the original stock filter sock's angle, and the new one that came with my Walbro 190hp ? As you can see, it appears to have an extra 45* bend in the inlet tube; which sure seems like it will make it hit the bottom of the tank and bent/kink upwards. When I tested it by pressing up on the lowest portion of the sock by hand, as I imagine it will encounter in the tank, it seems to flatten out and flexes a fairly sharp bend into it right below the inlet hose. I guess my concerns are A) it will basically remain flexed under tension and in constant contact with the floor of the tank (and for some reason it seems like that's not a good thing), and B) it's flowrate will somehow suffer as a result of the 'kink' essentially pinching off a good portion of the filter area.

Am I worrying about nothing, or is this worth pursuing a correction for ?

Thanks
