wiseco guys
Did anyone running wiseco's gap the rings? Or did you just leave them as is? Im planning on checking the gaps and making any adjustment but just kind of wondering what everyone else did. I mean if the machine shop did the bore to the exact specs that wiseco says then in theory there should be no need for any adjustment.

you have to gap them, cylinder walls vary. very very very few rings are made to size. i had to gap mine. make sure you have them square in the bore and set down about 1-2 inches. use a ring filing tool for bring it to a shop. the gaps need to be right or you will get blow by or scar your cyl walls

most oem parts are pretty damn close. its diffrent with aftermarket, because oem tends to stick with one set of specs. when your building a race engine you build it to suit your needs. so by making the rings with a smaller gap and allowing you to grind it to your spec, you can blueprint the engine to your standards. make sense?? i think an oem rebuild you would be fine. i know i havent had to gring any honda oem rebuilds ive done
