How tight would doing a blox manifold be on an NB? Is it even possible?

I hate this thread, it's making me want to give this a try. How's a factory Integra Type R manifold compare to the blox/skunk manifolds talked about in this thread?

the Blox/skunk2 is a copy of the ITR manifold.

You probably don't want an IM designed for an 8500 RPM motor, on a motor that revs to 7200.

Unless said motor actually revs to 8200. It starts making a bit more sense.

Sure have, but I don't know a thing about aftermarket Honda stuff compared to the factory items.

Probably not worth it.

I didn't have an OEM Honda one on hand when I measured the volume and runners of the Skunk and 1.6L Mazda manis, but from what I could see in pictures they are probably between the two, or just slightly better than our stockers. Longer runners, smaller plenum, and less accomodation for a larger throttle body than the aftermarket piece.

Since over half the cost of this hybrid is in the fabrication, it makes more sense to start with the better stock. You may be able to find a Type R manifold for ~$60 shipped, and you can pick up a Blox on CL for twice this. That's only 20% savings on a $300 manifold.

The Honda guys upgrade to these since the throttle body bore can be enlarged to something ridiculous (~70mm?...I forget), and of course the high rpm flow characteristics. Of course these are Honduh enthusiasts, but some quick reading on the forums shows that everyone is impressed with the upgrade, and find it well worth it. I imagine Blox wouldn't have bothered making a knock-off if the Skunk2 design wasn't spot on.

Got the OBX one in the mail today. The 1.8 ports really are almost identical.....might be able to get away with just re-drilling the flange and welding the injector bosses shut.

(Note: Im waiting on a 99 gasket, so this ones from my egt engine)

Just eyeballing it, looks like it should be fine. Might have to move some of the emissions/fuel line stuff out of the way but it shouldnt really need any more than that.
