Has anyone broken the stock NA 1.8 Pistons?
I have searched many forums but I have not found any topic where some had broken the stock NA 1.8 piston because of too much power. Many guys have written that the stock pistons can handle 350 whp but no one seems to have broken them.
So is there anyone who has after market connecting rods and and has broken the stock pistons with too much power? I don't mean if someone has broken the stock pistons because of the detonation or heat problems etc. I mean if someone has broken the stock pistons with proper tuning.

If you are in fact going for 400whp, you should really do pistons. The additional cost isn't all that much in the grand scheme of things on a 400whp miata.
NOW, if your going for a super budget 300whp build, i understand skipping pistons. Assuming you are just replacing the rods, bearings, rings, and doing all the work yourself.
