Default Web 505 cams in a BP4W head

I may pursue buy a set of these Web 505 cams but I want to make sure of two things, they are compatible with solid lifters and that it would actually be an improvement over the stock options for the bp4w non-vvt head.

Input is highly appreciated! If there are better options I would like to hear them.

Tank you berry much.

That's not a very big cam. 9mm lift and 205 duration at .050 is bigger than stock but not a huge difference.

They should be fine with solid lifters if you shim them right.

Are you naturally aspirated? $700 is a lot to spend for 20hp. Maybe turn the boost up one half of a psi instead of spending $700.

I would be trading some parts for them (specifically m-tuned rods with arp bolts). This would be for a boosted application, large large turbo(hx-35) and I have not seen these cams discussed for the bp4w head. I feel that a large enough turbo setup would benefit from a cam upgrade though.

Agree with sixshooter. You can do better than sticking mild BP05 cams into your BP4W head. Stock NB exhaust cam is .350 251° @.003. BP5A is $225 on the web and .349 251°.

For $691 regrinds, I'd spend an extra $200 and get Stage 2 street .370 NB1 cams from Megacycle instead. Call Megacycle for more info.

Thank you, I have been having a hard time trying to find 1.8liter cams and then people who have used them. Currently I have a plethora of bp26 and bp05 cams and then a set of stock 99 cams. I had considered doing some sort of exh. intake swap with a combination of what I have but then these popped up so I am now starting to do some real research.

If you're going to get re-grinds, why the heck wouldnt you get them ground the way you want to?

The only reason I was considering the 505's is because I would be trading for them, since I have been informed that they aren't really what I want I will be getting some that will be what I want.
