So I got a reman head from Clearwater and noticed it was a little different. My head's PN is BP05-4-2 and the new one is BP05-4-1. The only physical difference I can see is the water port on the back. Anybody know what the deal is? What's the extra water port for?

thanks!

If everything else is the same, the extra port can feed your heater core when you do a coolant reroute.

That was an Escort GT/Protege head, the small water port feeds coolant to the IAC valve, the large one to the oil cooler.

Check the distance from the lower intake manifold stud to the bottom of the intake port and make sure it's the same.
