Anyone have any experience with this coil kit?

...6 hp gain? I've been looking into COPs and talking with a buddy that has a MR2T about that. Interested in what this might offer.

I have seen so many concerns about the COPS blowing out that I was considering something already put together. I'm planning on going to 18psi or so and I'm hearing their may be issues with spark blow out on the stock coils.

I'm running stock 1.6 coils on a 2.0L 16psi = 300+whp and haven't had spark issues with NGKs gapped at .035. I wouldn't worry about it. BUT that's not saying there's not more power available with a stronger spark and larger gap. I'm surprised somebody hasn't identified that coil pack. I bet it's some kind of OE replacement piece. Any modern-ish four cylinder cars running wasted spark distributorless ignition that would need a coil upgrade? maybe OE turbo'd?

I bleaive from the other thread, those coils are on the srt4.

and what do you mean cops blowing out? I have only had one dead one, and that was my wiring fault.. and if you mean spark blow out, they have plenty of power..

Both I suppose. Spark blowout would be fixed by the COPS but do a search on COPS here or at m.net and there are scores of issues being reported. They may all be related to dwell or the wasted spark gig but I don't really want to spend the time on building a COPS setup if it is going to die in two months.

Hmm, that coil pack is pretty nice...anyone using it? I am about to dump some money on their front sway bar...so I might add that to the list.

Now that you mention it, it does look like the MSD one for the PT cruiser...

It is i was looking at Pt coil the other day, and i used to own one, it struck me after i was looking at it for a few then holding one in my hand.

It has a ground and 2 triggers or 12v and 2 triggers i forget. Its batch fired just like ours, 1-4 2-3, so it is as simple as matching wich wires are wich.

I wonder if you're gonna spend 325 putting together yourself. Wires, coil, fab a bracket out of aluminum.

The chrysler 2.4 MSD replacement coil is ~$150 with fat plug wires fwiw.
These coils run at a static 5ms dwell in a dodge/mitsu.
