I have heard alot about using a light weight crank in a 1.6 miata, does any one know which one they are using an a resource for that crank?

Do not alter or replace the stock crank.

There are crankshaft builders in the US that will build anything you want, but the general consensus is doing so in a 1.6 is just throwing your money away when you consider that swapping in a 1.8 will net more cubic inches for far less money. The 1.8 also has far more potential.

So the short answer is no, there is not an aftermarket crank that you can buy off the shelf for a 1.6. There are for the 1.8 though.

This discussion has been covered here many, many times. Spend some time searching.
