Default Oil leak...

Hey guys, i have an oil leak on the hot side of my engine....

I have taken it apart several times thinking that it was my metric adapter tothe block, but it seems to come back occassionally.

Is it common for the oil seals on the head gasket to go, and is there an oil passage on the back left of a b6 engine?

i dont want to tear the head off to replace it to find out i am wasting my time and that it isnt a common issue.

Thanks
Matt

Sounds like the oil drain is seeping from the headgasket. Let me find a picture to illustrate.

The orange shape in the bottom right of that picture is the seal that is leaking on your motor. You need a headgasket if you want to fix that leak :(

that seems to be the area that its coming from...

is this a common occurance?
it didnt really start until the car was boosted (and held in boost for a while ... tuning and driving up hills etc)

Thats when mine started leaking as well. Need to work on crank case ventilation.

there is no pressure on crank case. i have the pcv open to air and the valve cover vent open to air.

it would be nice to have a vaccum on it, but this by no means should add pressure.
