Default Looking at getting a 1995 miata and want 240HP

So I am looking at a 95 miata so it should have the 1.8 5speed has 111k mileage.

I am looking for 240hp. I am looking at making this car for a downhill only with MAYBE uphill depending on power band and fun dd for around town.

I am looking at 2 options

A supercharger kit.

k20 swap.

The k20 swap I am looking around 5-6k for the full swap.

a supercharger kit is around 3-4k for everything.

I have been reading and my concern with the supercharger is not hitting the numbers I want without a higher fuel such as meth/e85.

The reason for the supercharger being my #1 pick is I want to keep the mid range power while getting better high end power.

I would like some feedback from users with a supercharger and what numbers their putting down and how they like it.

You don't have a clue about how to get what you want. Did you do any searching? Do you think this is the first time someone has showed up here looking for 240 HP?

What do you mean downhill or uphill?

Do you know what 240 whp feels like in a Miata?

Do you torques, bro?

I don't think so.

Comes to miata turbo asking about superchargers and Honda motors on first post. Grabbing pop corn.

You definitely shouldn't turbocharge it.

Hi, and welcome to MT.net! While your questions certainly indicate that you've really thought this project through, I think that you ought to know that there's no conceivable way that a Miata motor can ever make 240 horsepowers, even with a K20 swap with a supercharger going downhill only at all times like some crazy-*** MC Escher print.

The only way to accomplish the power level you're looking for is to swap in either a V8 or a Rotary. Now you're still going to need that supercharger if you plan on a lot of uphillery, but since that's so rare you can use an electric one for those special occasions. eBay has a bunch of them, but you're looking at almost $64 for a really big one so think twice about whether you're really ever going to have to go uphill or not. You can save a lot of money just by planning your route a bit more carefully. Either of the engine swaps I mentioned are total bolt-ins, unlike that K20 motor, because everybody knows that FWD motors turn the other way, requiring you to switch all the spark plug wires around to get it to turn right. I mean, who wants a car with 6 speeds in Reverse?? Not me, uphills or not.

Anyway, I admire your spunk, so really, do yourself a favor and find a nice Rotary or a LS1; they bolt in and can be swapped over for like two hundred bucks. All this turbo talk around here is just a scam being perpetrated by a few fabricators who tooled up to make custom hotside manifolds before we all discovered how simple it is to swap Rotarys and V8's and even K20's (where do they put all those cylinders anyway??) and now want to sell off their inventory to unsuspecting noobs. Think of MiataTurbo like a big infomercial for tubular manifolds and gay sex, that's really all that's happening around here.

Pinky's let the cat out of the bag with the new guy. The whole time I was reading the original post I was thinking about gay sex.

No. Don't be stupid.

You've got it backwards bro. It's 310 downhill, and 240 going up.

You know, cuz of gravity nstuff.

C'mon bro. Don't even worry about torque. These cars are so light anyways, you don't even need it really.
