Default Beta Testing 1000cc Injectors

We have a beta set of 1000cc in my car. High impedance plug and play. Originally it was just going to be a base tune to see how they ran due to my WRX not having the mods to need 1000cc's.
Im running the stock TD04 Turbo. 4in TurboXS DP to 3in Invidia catback and devils own water/meth are really the only engine mods I have.
Well my tuner came up, I dropped them in and we went at it. After it was all said and done, we had a full tune and i could not tell the difference from before and after. It idles perfect, mid 11's AFR accross the board. We are leaving them in my car to continue testing and will check the tune in a week or so.
This is great news as it means we are closer to releasing the product.
Just figured I would keep everyone informed.

11:1 AFR at idle isn't exactly "perfect."

Need a Miata guinea pig? I just picked up a set of 750cc from you guys, and would be happy to trade them before they're installed

Im not trying to compare my car to a miata whatsoever, 11's is where my car likes to be. Whats the best AFR range for a Miata

Sounds good to me! But I'm an odd ball out, I'd want them in low ohm. And I've already got a set of 1000cc low ohm injectors waiting for me when I have the money.

FWIW, most of the panzies on this board idle around 14:1. I have to run mine at least 12.5:1 or richer or my idle isn't right. But I get maximum vacuum at idle in the high 11's.

And 1000cc injectors at the factory 3bar pressure at idle will result in overly rich idle, at least 11:1.

We have only 2 sets right now, both are in cars. Im not sure when they will be released yet. When you put the 750's in, lemme know how it goes. I like to stay in contact with my customers

Yes it is a little rich at idle. I have noticed a lot of you guys like the Low z Injectors.

Actually, a lot of guys here like 550cc high ohm injectors that are plug in play. Most here run MS1 and it doesn't support low ohm injectors. (actually it does, but everyone runs the 'high-res' code and then it no longer supports the PWM needed to drive low ohm injectors)

I'd say no more than 5% of the board runs low ohm injectors without resistors.

Of course I like the low z injectors because with my MS2E, I can run them. So if I wanna run large injectors, I can without sacrificing idle quality. Even though I'm gonna tune it rich anyways.

and you can always add the PWM daughterboard to run low-ohm injectors with Hi-Res code :P

Id like to get into tuning with MS. My tuner uses an open source program on my subaru, and ill be running Haltech on my RX7. But i was considering buying a Datsun 510, or 240z as my next project.

If i was a smaller guy i would love to get a Miata, but im 300lbs, and i dont think it would be really comfortable for me, although ive never been in one.

.

Mine runs at about 12.5 or richer at idle. Anything leaner than that and the RPM's bob up and down. Im running rx7 550's.

I run about .8ms fuel pulses at idle on my 550s. that's what I love about P&H low impedance injectors.

Does peak and hold really save that much fuel? I am idling high-imp 460s at about 13.3:1 with 1.76-1.78ms pulses.

It's like the difference between turning on a faucet valve that takes 9 turns vs. a 90* "T" valve. More or less. FWIW, NB's run a constant 62 PSI fuel pressure, even at idle, so we will run less PW to get the same amount of fuel at idle.

It's not so much about saving fuel, it's more about not injecting twice as much as you need. I idle at 14.5:1 with the 550s.

In the OEM world, lo-z injectors are primarily an emissions thing. They permit ultra-precise control at very low pulsewidths, such as idle.

In the performance world, the primary advantage to lo-z injectors is that they allow you to run silly-huge sizes and still maintain idle in the mid to high 14s. You put put hi-z 750 or 1000cc injectors in, and you'll just have to idle in the 10s or 11s.
