BP-ZE engine blocks
Do all of these cars have the same engine block that came in the 1994 1.8L miata? If so can they be used with the 94 1.8L head?
1990-1994 Mazda Protege LX (with VICS)
1992-1993 Ford Escort LX-E
1991-1996 Mercury Tracer LTS
1994-1997 Kia Sephia GS
1997 Kia Sephia RS
Thanks

Yep, I'm probably going to pick up an Escort GT engine to swap into my 96 in the next few weeks. You can get them much cheaper than Miata 1.8's, but you have to swap stuff over. I'm picking up a 71k mile complete engine for $275. I'm using the Miata.net article for the specifics regarding the swap.

Thanks for the info!
I am just asking about the block itself, because on Wikipedia it says that all of those cars came with the 1.8L BP-ZE that came in the 1994-1997 miata.
I Just want to get a block from any of those cars because it is easier to find then a miata block.
Then have it bored over and put in forged rods, pistons. Then swap over everything over from the stock engine besides the block.
