NA Stock engine specs, compression, cams etc
#3
To My knowledge pretty much everything was the same in the NA6 or B6 engine world wide for the Mx5/Miata
In japan they qouted a slightly higher power figure than the rest of the world.Ive always dismissed this as talk & the way Japanese tested their engine power. However discussions have come up that the timing in the ECU was slightly more aggressive I'm not saying this is fact you may want to research this yourself since you have a 1.6 Eunos.
It must also be said, that engines in different cars without mods will vary slightly in power due to tolerances accepted at the factory & driving history of the car itself. On a stock 1.6 NA you would get anything from 60-65rwKw (81-88 hp)
Note: Automatics had slightly different specs in compression ratio. as well as perhaps slightly different cam specs ( slightly less aggressive) I can't say for sure exactly what.
But the factory specs for Manual are
Power:85Kw (115 Hp)
Volume: 1598cc
cylinder Bore Bore 78mm (I think?)
Stroke:83mm
Compression 9.4:1
Head gasket 1.3mm
Head gasket bore. 80mm?
Cam advertised specs
Duration In/236deg
Lift In/7.86mm
Duration Ex/250 deg
Lift Ex/7.9mm
Overlap 20 deg advertised probably 10-12 deg in the real world.
base Timing 10 deg.
max timing advance in ECU is 33 deg(i think)
You may want to confirm these within the UK as these are from Australia. Aussies get stuff from the UK & US a;ll the time. Ive never heard of things not fitting. I own a NA6 as well.
