Default Harmonic Damper

Before I'm flamed and told that I need to do a noob search; I have done multiple searches (in the 100s) and tried to refine them as much as possible. Currently using the mobile site at work and I'm having trouble finding answers regarding the benefits of the different timing teeth configurations for the ATI damper.

So far my understanding is that 36-2 is just a higher resolution for the trigger wheel and requires an aftermarket ECU. Covered on that end for sure. Is there anything else I'm missing as far as that goes?

Secondly, my car will be making less than stock power for the next 1000 miles and actually doesn't have the engine in it at the moment. I'll be running it "stock" (without any boost) to break in the motor and the stock ECU, so I realize that using my OEM damper and trigger wheel will suffice.

Sorry for starting a new thread about this if it's already been discussed. Just looking to have all my concerns sorted out as fast as possible. Thanks for anything you guys might like to add!

Well I did see one question mark, so...it was confusing though.

Thanks guys. Friend of mine caused some doubt in my thought process today regarding the decision to buy an ATI damper. Just needed some reassurance about the setup of the trigger wheel I'm going to use and what effect the options had.

The people helping me with the build haven't ever had to mess with harmonic dampers because the stock ones they run don't have any issues with big turbo builds.
