I should be getting a miata in the next few day im gonna be aiming for a 300whp with a 1.8 build and im just wondering how the crank and trans holds up to that kinda power? I plan on doing pistons rods injectors pnp the head oversize valves matching up the intake maby boring out a bit and a rear swap. Let me know what you guys think

You gotta walk before you can run.

What is a "rear swap"? You want to put a solid axle in it??

All i was told is its a 94 that sat for about 10 years in a friends neighbors drive way wich in the picture i got its sittiing in the dirt so im going to look at it today [hope its not a rot box] and ill update with some better info. I had no clue are miatas independant rear? I only said rear swap bc a friends got a shortened 9in rear i can get cheap. Only reason ive been looking for a miata is bc there light cars that i can use for a few diffrent reason track car mostly. Any reserch ive done was on the motor and trans so sorry ahead of time for any stupid questions

Independent rear suspension. The '94 has a pretty strong diff depending upon what you are thinking of putting in it for an engine. It probably has 4.10 gears, most of them did.

This forum has an infinitesimally small tolerance for stupid questions. You might want to start reading through the FAQs and build threads before bad things happen.

Dude you don't even have the car yet? Then you are in no rush, STFU and start reading. It will save you a shitload of time and money. My first month or so on this site was spent reading the build threads until I got to the ones that were too old and didn't have working pictures anymore.

I suggest buying all the parts for your engine build before you find your car. That way, you can have it all lying around on the floor of your room encouraging you to actually get a miata :P

You don't need to swap the rear unless you are doing a v8 swap. Basically, you are not going to be able to achieve what you posted without a good bit of reading and understanding. A 300whp reliable track miata will be one expensive, time consuming, beast from hell.

My best suggestion would be to read Hustler's build thread for guidance.
