The reason why the engine broke the way it did was because it was a junkyard motor with bad rod bearings on all four to begin with. Top it off with a tune to make power and you have a recipe for disaster.

So it was the worn out motor on its last string, not the tune.

Trent, everyone does stupid things now and then. Even I have, there is no excuse but I am still here and learned to make better decisions. Hopefully everyone else does. Hopefully.

As for more background on my brothers motor, it broke years ago(2005?) and has been taken apart the other day. That motor survived 12.4 passes at 118 mph at the track until it broke cruising around. Keep in mind that he is running a g series tranny, so even cruising at 70 mph puts the rpms close to 4k, which is enough to do some serious damage.

come on nothing is better then taking a 06 ford gt for a test drive after i got done doing tires on it and hitting 190mph on a 55mph highway got to love the Marriott parkway no exit zone and the lack of state troopers. best part was the tire spin in three gear doing 75-85 mph but once the tires were warm they never let loose 315/40-19 in the back

Now if you could just learn to spell and use proper grammar you might be able to do more than just change tires someday And because I know they don't let their tire monkeys take joy rides. That picture is about as close to that car as you will ever get, otherwise you would have pictures of you actually driving it if the alleged event on the highway actually took place.

Context is everything, though. I remember being on some bumfuck highway out in the Mojave Desert, seeing telephone poles next to the highway that stretched out onto the horizon, and not a car in either direction for miles. I used the opportunity to see what the rev limiter felt like in 6th gear. I got to the limiter, bumped it a few times for good measure, and then slowed back down to my normal cruising pace of 75-80, and I still hadn't seen a car. Or a house. Or an animal.

140mph is perfectly safe, even on public roads. The Germans have proved this time and time again. Doing 140mph in TRAFFIC is what's dangerous.

Just how in the **** do you expect to outrun the cops then? Jesus, you people...

Seriously though, I've done faster on public roads, but with no traffic I don't see the big deal. After midnight on a long straight in a 70mph zone, no cars for at least a mile in either direction, middle barrier, why not... if a tire blows, its only my dumb *** and maybe some trees and grass. I don't have the ***** to go that fast anymore though. About 120 is my limit now. Over that, any car feels a bit scary to me. Especially the Miata.

Those pumps look different and the hoops are yellow in the video. Just an observation. Any you're the only one at the gas station with a valid license? Shaaadddyyy.

190 in the snow?

I don't believe it for a second.

Not to mention it's a very poor way to heat cycle new tires.

I'd rather hear about someone doing this as opposed to some assjunky telling stories about drifting.
