Where are you located? Why the NB 1.6 over a 1.8, especially if you'll be building and boosting it?

From your list the only items that are 1.6-specific are the following:

Valve covers
Rebuild gasket kit (keep in mind that these usually include the head gasket; if you do not need it you may be better off ordering separate items rather than the complete kit)
Head gasket
Pistons
Valves (most probably, not 100%)

All else are the same between 1.6 and 1.8 NBs

OP is in NZ. Not sure if they have engine swap limitations in the Antipiodes, but that could be one reason.

Thanks VM guys, FYI the amount of fabrication work in the Lotus 7 replica for the 1.8 is the limiting factor.
Is there some where I can get part numbers from chassis numbers like this for BMW https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select Or maybe it might be possible to find the Mazda illustrated parts cataloger somewhere?

Here are some chassis numbers for NB donor cars:

NZ chassis number:
NB6C102098

UK Vins:
JMZNB186200410903
JMZNB186200134031

I use the website Mazda Electronic Parts Catalog - Free Mazda online parts catalog for EUDM specific parts. It has the 1600cc part numbers as well.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I have updated the OP with part numbers for the NB6s. Most of it is ordered now. I still have a few question marks around rods, pistons and top end hardware to deal with. Getting there. Special thanks to Six and Aidandj, cheers for help on side guys! Just magic.
