Jason and I just returned from picking up our set of pistons from supertech directly. It was just a little extra but worth not going through the headache of shipping and possible errors in the piston size.

There front office displays are sick!

Anybody know why the part number for 79mm low and high compression pistons is the same?

Good to hear you both got the pistons in hand.
Know any place in the bay area that's good at tuning miatas?

I'll be using a e-manage blue.
I'll be willing to travel a little if they can tune it right.
Been looking for one close by but no one in the city seems to dynotune.

Halcyon if you spent all that money on pistons I'd spend more on an Adaptronic or a MS.

If you guys go over to Supertech ask them about the design of the piston face-- where the material is thin and dies (after detonation and piston melting). I talked with some guy there-- he sounded ethnic european.

I already have a emb still in it's plastic bag. I was going to use it w my pnp 99 head w/jrsc. But that blew up before I had a chance to install it. I'll probably upgrade to megasquirt when I decide to go turbo. But for now I'm trying to go low budget. My other projects might get jealous if I spend too much at once. Lol.

That was quick. A lot smaller box than I expected.

Not on the bitmap posted here:

https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t37356/#post433338

Which shows P4-MA790-N10 for both (with nearly 2 points of compression ratio difference!).

I want to say this number is correct for the lower compression, and that the high compression pistons are just N1 at the end, but can't find anything with a websearch off the bat.

I'll have to call.

I DID just find some 8.5:1 compression pistons though...just need to check availability.

now..I'll be set if I can find a place that sell Supertech valve spring kit for good price.

JasonC SBB: are you going to have Steve Cardelli to build your motor? Looks like we have the same parts according to your post.

Cardelli is a good 45 minute drive away for me.
I took my stuff to Victory Machine in SJ which is 10 minutes away. Pricier, popular with the local V8 crowd, but convenient.
