Default Identify this part?

What part is this? can I remove it? it connects on the right side to a blue and orange connector. it looks like some sort of sensor that goes in the front of the engine bay secured by two bolts on the chassis and has wires that run up the right side into a blue and orange connector. Thanks

Airbag crash sensor. You can remove it if you DONT have an airbag.

That was my first thought but I figured i'd ask before doing it. I do have an airbag but I still took it off. When I switch out my steering wheel this summer And remove the airbag. Is there a way to make the light stop flashing. Besides a little square of electrical tape?

Yep, remove the airbag computer while you are at it.

I'm not sure I could drive the car like that. It's like when the fuse on a firework doesn't work, don't really wanna go check it.

Totally irrational fear of course but thats just me. For gods sake pull the fuse for the airbag system (might be in the second fuse box in the footwell) this might also get rid of the flashing light.
