I got it running yeah. I made a thread on it here when I started it.
https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t36067/
You said "ok we are back to your first error. your MS is loaded with hr_10 code, but your software is looking for 029q."
^I'm still throwing that code above even right now, but the MS works like how it does in the vid. I place a spark plug on a strip of aluminum, turn the car to on (I get a small spark here), and then when I crank the car I get nice white sparks. I tested it on #1 and #2 a while ago, but I'll test and record it sometimes later again. I'm hoping since I got spark, fuel, timing (belt at least ; /) is right, that it's an MS error?

this should be a simple fix.
go here: Index of /MS/msq/firmware
download the two msns-extra files to c:\programfiles\megatune\megatune2.25\mtcfg
then open configurator.
drop open the megatune2.25 list and highlight the msns-extra.ini.hr10
then go to file activate.
save and exit, now you shouldn't have the error again, and you should see the rpms in MT.

Seriously, wtf. I changed my timing belt to look like this at tdc.
http://www.rivercityroad.com/garage/pics/cams.jpg
I start the car and get the normal "crank but no start," checked the spark and got spark on both coils. I plug it back in, tried a few more times and then the car suddenly cranks like it's barely turning. I opened up my valve covers and it's still on the right markings since the tension is still tight on the belt. I still hear my fuel pump buzz when I turn it to on. I get one spark on the plugs when the car is set to on and megasquirt says my battery is at 11.56 volts. There's no spark when the car is trying to crank now.
Brain, I swear, I've tried it three times tonight not to mention trying it on a laptop with XP and one with Vista (I crash after a few seconds on the one with Vista now).
1. Fresh install of MSPNP_Setup_021108.exe
2. Downloaded the two .ini files above and it in the c:\programfiles\megatune\megatune2.25\mtcfg
3. Open up megatune, go to config, activated the hr10, save and exit
4. Turn the car to the on position, open up megatune
Sitting duck again, but now I can't even crank it right .

I hope I'm not cranking because my plugs are fouled. Just checked the timing again because I read up on the cam pins shearing, or that the belts could have sheared on a few teeth. After using a socket to turn the cams, the marks are still on the right place just like the pic. Ahhhhhhh!

Just an update. Car was running after I jumped the battery although all electricals were fine prior. The megatune reading differently from the hi_res10 firmware was fixed after I renamed "msns-extra.ini.hr10" to "msns-extra.ini" in both the mtCfg folder in megatune and in whatever project folder it's in. I got a tach signal from megatune now, but nothing on the dash. I'm also idling rough at 1400 (was at 1800 before I messed with the idle screw) so I'm working on that.
