Default Turn journal .01 undersize or replace?

2004 nb miata with a scuffed #4 rod journal. Should I just get this turned, or is a crank from a core wrecking yard Kia, Escort motor a better option?

I was wanting to confirm that the miata crank is a forged crank.

Is is nitrided? If so, I wonder how deep? I am concerned about turning the crank and loosing the nitride layer.

I'm turning mine which have a scarred #2 journal. The Miata cranks are forged.

The 1.8l crank I have in front of me is forged.

Most cranks that are nitraded go to about .040 from what I have seen/read about
