My oil pressure gauge was acting wonky as well. After changing my plug wires it started to act right and not flicker around.

Exact thing I experianced. After capping off the OEM pcv side breather the oil by the court ending up in my catch can went away. Im breathing from the OEM drivers side location and a port installed in the block same location as the capped off tube that came on early 1.6l's.

Did you ever resolve this? I noticed my gauge fluctuates sometimes

I get it in the Rental car. Occasionally the gauge will flicker, then fall to 0. It's very confidence-inspiring. Then the next lap the engine is still running fine, and it flicks back up to 75psi.

I replaced it with a Racepak - that fixed it :P
