Custom Firewall Engine Harness Connector/Bulkhead
Like many of the products we offer develop or sell, it starts as something we'd use ourselves. Based on feedback this is something we would consider offering.
During the recent engine bay remodeling of the Fab9 NB, we've decided it's time to take wire management to another level with a firewall harness bulkhead. The engine was removed 5 times last season and it would have been brilliant to keep everything in tact and simply disconnect all of the wiring at once.
We're considering a quick and easy package to simplify this process for those of you who might be interested in a solution like this.
These connectors are very high quality, weather tight and easy to use.
Kits will include the following:
1x 1.5" Female 32 position firewall bulkhead mount
1x 1.5" Male 32 position engine side connector
40x Female crimp pins
40x Male crimp pins
1x Template for mounting
(Two assemblies shown here - one connected, one separated)
Pricing will start at $118 and may change based on interest.

No, we didn't reinvent anything here. Just a convenient way of ordering a package that we know works. If we don't find it appealing to anyone we simply wont carry it but personally I would have bought this much sooner had someone packaged it with all the right components under one part number.

To add to this:
- 500 cycles of mating and unmating, No mechanical or electrical defects
- 10 g s peak,10-500 Hz No physical damage, No loss of continuity
- 40 g s peak, 3 axes, No physical damage. 6 millisecond duration half-sine pulse No loss of continuity >10 sec
- High Temperature Endurance 1000 hours at 85 C (+185 F) Insulation Resistance > 250 hours at 120 C (+248 F)

Do you happen to have any installed pics? So for the full treatment one would need to purchase two of these (one for pass side and one for drivers side)? Is this crimp tool anything special, or notably pricey?

Looks to be a barrel crimp tool. You can find them on Amazon/Ebay. They'll probably run from pretty cheap to refinance the house expensive. If you have a decent set of crimpers with replaceable jaws you can buy good jaws for about $30.
Edit: Not from exhaustive comparison testing, but my preference so far has been the Paladin/Greenlee 8000 series frame. They work well. That said, the barrel crimp tools FAB proposes are half the set of just the jaws. Pretty hard to argue with.

Alright guys - We've had a good number of inquiries so we've listed them on the site. Only 3 kits in stock currently, 11 more sets ordered. I'm excited to see these put to good use so please report back here.
