Angry Brake Rotor stuck really bad

Ok here's the story. I changed rotors, pads and hardware at 3 corners with zero issues.

On the 4th corner, the damn rotor is frozen to the hub. I tried bolt after bolt in the center hole thats supposed to force the rotor out, but all of them strip after they contact the hub. I dont know if I'm using the right sized bolt? Its a M8 x 1.25 mm (I dont have a spare tiedown bolt that people normally use here).

Then I tried wedging the jack between a piece of wood supported with the chassis, and the rotor. No go.

Went to autozone, rented a 5 ton 3-jaw puller and used that on the outer surface of the rotor. Damn thing didnt budge a hair, so I heated the rotor with a Bernzomatic, and I ended up separating the rotor surface from the boss that holds it in place. Kinda like this (THIS IS NOT MINE):

http://groups.msn.com/SVTCobraR/brem...oto&PhotoID=24

Now the rest of the rotor is still behind the rotor boss and I don't know how to get the boss out.

Help me out with suggestions, guys???

Try carefully hammering a big/long flathead in there?? Use it kinda like a chisel where they meet? Thats what I do whenever I get something stuck (I think mine is bout 14" long)

I like the flathead idea. Tried BFH but no go. Maybe I have to start thinking about a new hub.

that sucks! I had a stuck rear rotor once and just put the rear of the car on stands, took the wheels off, and started it up. Then I went from 1st to reverse with my foot on the brake until the rotor broke loose.

drill a couple of holes between the studs so you can spray pb blaster in and let it soak in

If you have a cut-off wheel you can score the remaining hub and crack it with a cold chisel

Find someone with an air hammer or see if any hardware stores rent them, I run into that problem often at work, and on the few severe cases like yours, the air hammer gets it off fast. Or just take a flat chisel and try to get between the hat and the hub if possible. Like others said PB blast the hell out of it. It will come..

depending on how hot you got it with the torch I'd also be concerned about boiling the grease out of the bearing.

The bolt is a M8 x 1.25 so you are correct. I cant imagine how hard its welded on that you cant get it off.

Get a BFH and hit it hard between the studs.

Spray little bit of paint or primer on hub with rotor off to avid this in the future.
I always manage to get it off with a rubber mallet, not so easy...though.

Have a Jeep with a winch handy?

I second the air hammer. If that doesn't take it of, nothing will.

Air tools or tools of any kind that make noise are out because I live in an apartment. But a hammer is ok. I will try all of these in turn till I get it out. I already gouged the driveshaft face pretty bad with the puller bolt.

Yeah, it's in my apartment lease too that I can't work on my car in the parking lot. Nobody is going to evict you for making a little noise. That doesn't even make you a blip on the problem tenant radar. Hell, my neighbor is a *****. I do not exaggerate, she really is a professional ***** (upscale clientèle though, as far as I can tell) and even she hasn't been evicted. I've found that if I just wear one of these hockey masks, I can make as much noise as I like and nobody gives me any ****.

Not trying to be condescending here, just clarifying, but by "hammer" or "BFH" we don't mean your typical framing or woodworking hammer. Not heavy enough. You need about a 3-5 lb mallet. Spray the rotor-hub interface liberally with PB Blaster or the like and let that stuff work overnight, and it should pop off with a couple of hits.
