Default my free Classic Red 94

Well, as some of you may have noticed, I have been parting out my red 90 following an accident on Sept 24, just 3 weeks after getting the turbo setup installed and running perfectly. The insurance company took care of me, I was able to keep the 90 and they issued me a check for an agreeable amount.

So I looked and looked locally for another 1.6 in hopes of just swapping parts over. After not finding an adequate 1.6, I found this 94 about 80 miles from where I live. I emailed for more information and a number to reach him on. Over the course of about 2 1/2 weeks I talked to him for 3 hours about the car and finally decided to go buy it on Oct 30th. It had 131k miles and he had owned it since 2002, kept records on it and other than some oxidation on the rear the body is pretty clean. The soft top is toast, but the top from my 90 will be swapped in, also has a small hole in the passenger side door panel. And it came with an all metal radiator. He had it listed for $2995, but I drove it home for $2500 with the hardtop. It had been 5 weeks since the accident, longest I have ever gone without a Miata since buying my first one in 2002, I was having withdrawals!!

The next day I had it detailed and I swapped the 6UL's over, 2 days after that I changed the oil, swapped in a new valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, and CAS seal, also installed a k&n cone filter I had on a shelf. So far that's it for mods, but have many things planned.

As for the free part; after selling the hardtop, turbo setup, and many other parts from my 90 and extras for it, I have about broken even on what I paid for the 94.

Parts I have picked up for the 94 awaiting install/swap from the 90:
Used Begi t3 manifold with custom downpipe, $272 shipped on ebay
good pair of door panels, $65 shipped
new upper and lower rubber shift boots
Torsen from my 90
NB sport suspension from the 90 with Tein springs
94-95 Link ECU along with the AEM WBo2 and 550's from the 90
HKS exhaust from the 90
HKS boost gauge and turbo timer from the 90
Intercooler setup from the 90
ACT HD clutch

As for the turbo, I am deciding between a .52comp/.48turbine and a .60comp/.48turbine, figure that out later. I will likely wait until spring to install the turbo, but want to install the Link on the stock injector base map and gain a few mpg until the turbo goes in.

Pictures will be up soon.
