Not meaning to rock the boat too much here, I know I'm pretty darn new, but the only reason I'm a "proud supporter" is just to support the forum that is quite frankly the only reason I managed to successfully turbo my car.
The benefits are rather minimal. I still get ads sometimes on desktop, and TONS of them on mobile. Like, between every 2 or 3 posts sometimes, and at the top and bottom of many pages.
The IB "app" doesn't work _at all_.
Not needing to clear my inbox out all the time like I used to is awesome. And I'll probably continue to support for quite a long time based on all the help I get--not only with questions answered on the forum, but also long time members that have seriously stepped up to help me out during situations like my turbo breaking down. That being said, I wish I had at least a general idea of where that money went aside from domain fees.
---
Seems to me a little bit that the powers that be (not the moderation of the forum mind you, but whoever the "big wigs" are) have figured out that this place _probably_ isn't going anywhere, at least not for a while, whether they do things like make stickers and send them out, increase inbox size, and fix the mobile app, or not.
I can almost guarantee you that if you're an active member they make more than $3.50/month in ad revenue from your activity here, so from a business standpoint there isn't a whole lot of reason to change those things.

In all honesty IB has actually been pretty good with addressing issues we have. While they are not as good as Rick, they could be far worse. They honestly let us run the site as the mods see fit. We are one of the first site that they test changes on because they know we have a competent mod staff who can get back to them with issues. If there are big serious issue you guys are free to shoot me pm's and I will push for the changes you guys want.

Nolan,
A supporter has requested a 12 month calendar of the IB staff in just underwear holding kitties? Is this something that you could make happen?

We are ordering stickers and will put a process in place to make sure Lars is lousy with decals and we will also mail them directly to you once anyone signs up to be a member. BTW, Lars and the rest of these mods are the heroes MT needs and I will continue to do whatever I can when they come to us with member/personal requests... just shy of the underwear calendar.
Rick setup the membership with many of those specifics years ago and they should have been updated. MT is one of the few sites that had "decreased desktop ads" when we acquired it and I will continue to fight the business team everytime a new ad is installed in our network to make sure you guys don't see it.
Mobile is a bit tougher because in the past it had monetized about as well as the guy who dresses up like little ceaser and stands at the street corner.. but our new mobile template is much better in that regard. We are in the middle of developing an awesome new mobile application for this Fall and I admit the last one is no good. We were so desperate for any mobile app with the first one that we took something built for another department and macgyvered it to work in somewhat of a "skunk works" type operation (we were told internally we dont have resources for an app, we made an app anyways). Now nearly 40% of our traffic network wide is mobile and we should finally have something formidable end of summer or fall.
