Default Internet Brands Acquires MiataTurbo.net

This is to let you know that MT has been acquired by Internetbrands.com

I haven't been active in sometime with the exception of the management side / bills side of things and haven’t really been able to enjoy the community as I have off and on. The great staff here made it easy for me to be away to deal with real life & health related drama. I have taken great pride in knowing that I was a small part in building this great community, perhaps not to the degree I wanted but none the less, I showed up.

It will be business as usual here. Internetbrands.com is known for putting the community and site first. You can look at any of their acquirement’s and you will see they don't mess with what works. They are a professional company with more bodies to assist the staff and users than I could ever imagine having here; I have always been a 1 man operation with the exception of the site volunteers. This means there will be someone always available which is something I couldn’t always make myself. Also take into consideration IB owns the software we run on (vBulletin) and is always growing and expanding their business which in many cases benefits this and many other sites in their collective.

Internetbrands brings capital, staff and marketing to really take this site to the next level. This means more options and more opportunities for our members and it means a bigger busier site for you guys!

I am gracious and appreciate everything everyone has done for me with taking care of this forum. Enjoy it, have fun, its your home.

Rick

ok ok, outside of my generic good bye that I planned to use (cut and pasted and worked on it for sometime..) so that I wouldn't write something like this..... You guys have been awesome and by far lead, run, create, are a part of one of the best forums I myself have ever been a part of. All the times vendors / members would gripe at me because of what another MT user did was all worth it. Nothing changes with the exception of me leaving to focus on my real life & health, I need it. IB Nolan and the guys at IB have been great to deal with and if you know their other sites (ls1tech etc) you know they keep things in as is.

So...

May good things come to each and everyone of you who has allowed me to be a part of something so amazing (eating me up writing it, i ---- you not)

To the friends I made on here. You guys were a bigger part of my life and happiness outside of MT than you were here. I appreciate the chats, the laughs, phone calls and all the things that brought us together. I am looking forward to Shuiend yelling at me more on SC2 and more of Braineacks lack of talking on vent Ari, i will try and convince my wife to use your name and Alex, BF (battlefield not bf the way you are thinking) in the future if you will have me. Matt. voltage is strong. Trey, thanks for complicating day to day operations with your awesomeness. LOL

You guys know it and its gayish to remind you, but you all rock and are some of the people I will remember for a life time.

Rick, sad to see you go. Thanks for not going with autoforums. I wish you all the best for you and your family.

Plus the kick-back and continued admin status doesn't hurt.

Internet forums have the potential to be a better marketing system than fagbook could ever be. If I had extreme amounts of money to throw around, I'd buy forums and start implementing my own ideas into them. On a small scale, just think about the forum specific vendors we have on here.

Everyone thinks facebook is the most genius creation for marketing and advertising. I believe that forums can stomp facebook in the ---- when it comes down to it. Probably one of the main reasons big companies are eating them up.

Anyways, thanks for being an awesome admin Rick. You know you'll miss all those "you guys are a bunch of dickbags" emails though. lol

Good luck with everything!!

No we do not, we do not need a Hustler with 10k posts and no turbo installed on his car.

I tried to get Rick to get it written into the contract that the new owners had to use Phillips account. He would not do it.
