Default IE 7 overloading?

Do the new features of internet explorer, which encourage people to leave a website accessed, have any effect on the individual websites? Like ours?

You mean a "tabbed" browser? I wouldn't see how it could matter here, because no data is transmitted while the browser window is unattended.

Not unless the web browser is auto refreshing the site.

With the old IE, you could bring up several new IE programs and have them running on your computer logged onto different sites, which I did quite often.

With the new one, it is almost encouraging people to do so because of having a "Tab" for each site current and you can keep refreshing all of the sites at the same time. Just wondering if there was more bandwidth being taxed at the forum because of it.

why would people browse the same site 3 times? I don't see any issues.
We're so small we have no B/W issues.

I have 5 tabs set up for the forums that I am active on, like 5 IE 6's would be. I can go to any of the tabs and hit "refresh all" and it will do so, then I check each for updated **** I might want to make a fool of myself about.

Hey OG... basically, having 5 tabs open in IE7, will just give you 5 pages to toggle between....

Loading all 5 at once will mean, that depending on the server performance (the other side) you could take 1/5th of your total connection to refresh the page. But, most pages aren't that intensive. And that's what the disk cache is for anyway....

The biggest issue with the multiple tabs, I've seen the amount of memory grow quite high with IE7.... So just because you only have "one" of them, doesn't mean they aren't acting more like IE6 individual processes.
