SUBSCRIPTION PAGE IS BACK UP

So again, anyone without a subscription will have to deal with ads under the navbar. Subscribers, no ads.

Just re-subscribed. Still seeing the eBay Motors ad on the right, though.

Thats because the old accounts set you to primary subscriber, secondary registered user.

I will manually fix all accounts that go through that

I have tested a clean subscription, my way works

Paypal sets it up as an automatic subscription. At least that's how mine worked.

Hey miatamania, the payments are perpetual so every month the sub updated.

Thats why it was important to get people to cancel the payment to the old email address.

welcome from one foreigner to another. I like your willingness to listen and the changes to the site so far.

Best of luck and here's to wishing you make lots of mullah$$$$$$$$ so this site gets even better.

Now, if I could finally change my name from Spaniard to Rafa without incurring your wrath I'd be more than willing to pay my subscription. Let me know how can I do so without creating too much hassle. Thanks

Rafa

Thats good to hear Philip canceled them. You don't need to cancel if he has, but i wanted to make sure that i let everyone know they should handle it rather than assume it would get done.

But yup, all good

Forum structure did change. You need to add /forum/ in the url now for any old back links you had.

This was something we had to consider when changing the format.

Rick, the only thing thing that's bugging me about the new format is the presence of the "eBay Motors" advert and the "Recent Threads" bar at the right side of the screen whenever I am viewing a thread.

Specifically, they are causing a large column of dead white space about 200px wide on the right side of the screen. This causes all of the actual content to be compressed and displaced off to the left.

I tend to run my web browser in non-fullscreen mode, so this may be more of an annoyance to me than to those who dedicate a full monitor to theirs.

Still, this was the one thing I was hoping would go away when the subscriber accounts got sorted out. The banner ads at the top don't bother me in the slightest, you can stick all of those you want up there, since they don't interfere with the formatting of the main content. But the ad at the right (along with the "Recent Threads" bar, which I don't find useful) are really bugging me.

Here's a screenshot illustrating what I mean:

Aside from this, everything is looking great. Kudos on a very smooth transition.

I was just talking with scott about that too. I dont see the ad (adblock pro at work), but the dead space is really the only thing bugging me. Overall I like the visual changes thus far.

My tablet only has a 10" screen though so additional deadspace horizontally really bugs the **** out of me.

My notebook has a 12" screen. Yeah the whole thing is too wide. It would be nice to kill the sidebar at right.

On my other notebook with a 15.4" widescreen it fits fine.

<edit> upon further review, the site widths are different from subforum to subforum. Odd

Lets kill the sidebar in post ?

Is that a fair compromise ?

And Joe Perez, i fixed your account, you're old school subscription. LOL. New way doesn't add you to two groups, just the 1. You shouldn't be seeing the ebay ad.

It's because of images. If somebody embeds a picture in their message, then the "content" portion of the screen expands to fit the image, pushing the dead space out to the right.

This thread, for instance, now looks correct on my screen because of the huge picture I embedded into my last message.

If a picture is wider than your active window, the text itself will actually run right off the right side and you have to scroll to read it. Word-wrapping to the active window would be nice, but I'm not sure how to implement that.

Anybody else notice, when you click on a thread, it no longer goes to the most recent post you haven't seen?

Just goes to page 1 post 1.

If you could fix that Rick. It would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Edit: This is only from the newposts homepage. It works as usual otherwise.
