Default Some good questions!!!

So i was thinking to help keep the noob Threads down to a minimum, could we make it so they can only post in the noob section until they have enough post and force them to make a few searches before they can post in the other areas?

I have see a forum that makes noobs have 10 posts in the noob section before they can even post in the normal area. Then after they have a number of post up in the other areas they can make a thread.

So like 5 posts in the noob section then 10 post in the rest of the forum areas, then let them start making threads. So this way they can see how its run on MT.NET

let's integrate a short quiz for new members to take before they can post outside of the newb section

This comes up a few times a year, everyone says "hey great idea" but nothing ever comes of it. Its already set so that they cant PM, or start for-sale threads.

Maybe base it on questions that get asked most often and the stickies.

So good questions would be!
Will a ebay manifold hold?
Can you run side feed injectors on a miata b6 or BP motor?
**** like that, needs some question to really show they have searched this ****.

Without new members, forums die. You really want this place to be nothing more than the random pics thread? A few crusty old farts who have nothing to discuss?

But don't many of the noobs that would fail such a test leave soon, or don't contribute the forum anyway?

Fending off a few "noobs that don't contribute" is not worth hassling new legit members with some horsecock test.

DSMTuners does something similar. Seems to be working OK for them after all this time.

hated this when i joined an rx-7 forum for a couple answers. i just wanted to PM a couple guys and post in the wanted to buy section. i had to post 15 times. If this goes live prepare to see a ton of bullshit posts by new members just to get their post count up..

Fairly sure we already have that. What's being proposed is a test for entrance as a member of the form.

Lol, making fun of noobs and such is how we keep it going. Noobs have watered down the search pool. I mean, I can't search a damn thing on here with out seeing noobs from before my time asking a legit question, and being flamed, either because no one knew, or because it had been asked 1000 times. Either way I don't care. Wading through buttsects and **** jokes is the way of the site. The people with the knowledge that want you to know will tell you. If you earn the right, or search through the pooba diving to find it.
