Whatever, it was never in my update windows, nor when I refreshed it. I had to find it on windows and d/l and install it manually.

How is that user error?

There's no official documentation that says Vista needs to be on SP2 and IE9 has to be installed. I had to search the EA forums and the web for a few days to figure it out (tomshardware)--it took that long because there are that many people with problems installing the stupid game. The EA staff didn't help me solve this; if anything they should hire me and I'd be able to help users install this game with a mulitude of different issues, including and not limited to directx errors, service pack error, punk buster errors, and the update not installing correcty...

I just messin brosef. You think there would be a big red flag notice that was like "hey update your ****". Since it seems like there are fatal errors unless you do. Wonder what specific file it needed from the update.

On vista, you needed the sp2 update to run IE9; the game wouldn't run on sp2 alone until I downloaded/installed IE9.

Even though battlenet launched in Firefox (my default), there's gotta be something in IE9 that it needs when launching the web service.

**** Gamestop. I should have known better than to download the Back to Karkand expansion through buggy and glitchy Impluse. Took a while to finally make it show up on my "My Games" tab. Then when I try to actually install it, it asks for the product key, which is apprently not the right one. Something about it only accepting StarDock serial keys. So apprently there is a big cluster **** between GameStop, StarDock and Impulse, all sharing product keys and download content or something. Now to wait for a reply back from my gamestop email, since no one on the phone could help me, you can only contact tech support through email apparently. And I know no one there will be able to help, never can.

That game is a big cluster F. Starcraft has been the least buggy game I've ever played.

What did you expect, a game from EA that didn't make you want to break ****?

I found my problem earlier... I ******* bought the 360 digital download, not the PC. I didn't even know GameStop sold 360 downloadable content. I thought it all had to be through Live, so I didn't even look close. I just saw Return to Karkand and assumed it was for PC. That's what I get for assuming I guess.

Still doesn't change the fact that EA sucks, Origin sucks, Impulse sucks, and while I'm at sucky ****, Steam sucks as well. I miss the day when if you did buy something online, you just downloaded a small installer file, then installed it through a wizard. Then it was on your computer and worked just like you had installed it from a CD or DVD. Now it's all downloaded and played through these applications like Steam and Impulse, and they always ******* suck and ruin my day with unnecessary complication. Give me back 2007's method of game download!!!

I've grown to appreciate Steam over the years but when it first came out I very much hated it. It seemed to take Valve, a company full of nerdy *** software engineers, a good while to get it working right. I don't see happening that with EA's shitty substitute. Frankly, if they hadn't launched BF3 on Origin, nobody would ever use it.

Steam is the lesser of the evils. I will admit is has improved. I haven't had an issue lately, but when it first came out, like you said, I HATED it, and it sucked so much.

And by playing, he means dying. A lot, and often.
