Sounds like this game is going to be kind of a resource hog.

Hopefully my i3-2100, 8gb ram, and HD5850 can run it reasonably.

Would hate to have to upgrade my video card that is only a couple months old...

Although I have fairly decent specs, it's probably only mid-range, I have NO lag or slow downs at all in beta.

It's only beta guise. Performance should be better in the release.

Of course I'll be out on a business trip the first half of next week. Sounds like I might be missing the first few days of this...

I'm worried about my computer. If it was running right it would probably be good enough, but I've been having video driver issues on a more frequent basis. It started when I was playing EVE Online, the video would cut out and the screen would go black for 10-15 seconds, then come back. It would do that about every 15 minutes. Then it became every 10 minutes, 5 minutes, then it got down to about 1 minute and it was not worth playing the game. I blamed the game, but it has been doing this recently on other things, even the windows desktop. Buy a good, modern card with good ratings, and I get this ****. It's an ASUS 5850DirectCU, the one with the voltage unlocked so you can really overclock the **** out of it. Outperforms a lot of ATI's top of the line cards, for about half the price.

Anyway, my point is, if I buy BF3 and start getting video driver crashes and can't enjoy it, I'm going to smash my computer Gallagher style.

Uninstall video drivers and every thing video card related. Restart your pc every time it asks. delete all old driver files. Install newest non beta video card driver. Have had to do it with my laptop a few times.

Might be time for a formatting and update mobo drivers.

Done all of the above. When it began doing it, it was at random. It had worked fine for a month or two prior, then all of a sudden it started doing this, with increasing frequency.

I doubt there is anything they can do about it, but I may give them a ring and see what they say. It has to just be an incompatibility between drivers somewhere, but knowing exactly what is causing an intermittent issue like this is tough.
