Of course I forgot to update my drivers and it complained. Now i have 198MB file to download before I can play :(
The browser plugin you have to download is funky. After you open the install file it loads and disappears. No notice if it's installed or not. Just close and reopen your browser and it should be fine.

Game was fun. Played with TorqueZombie for about an hour. We were on different teams though. I haven't played BF3 in year so I can't say if it's just BF3 with updated graphics. I did have more fun playing last night than I remember with BF3. Would be a lot more fun with some more people (hint hint).

Ask my in Dec. I need to update my PC first, but I'm waiting for Black Friday sales before I buy anything.
My computer now is getting obscenely slow lately. Not quite sure that what means, but it's seriously being weighted down by something.

The game file is seriously massive.
One thing that did surprise me is the lack of technical issues. Either a lot of people didn't preload, a lot of people are waiting to see how good it is, or they had the technical stuff sorted pretty well.
I had only one small issue for a few minutes where it wasn't returning any matches when I was letting it choose a server for me.

Hmm, what kind of system demand are we talking with BF4 ? If I could play bf3 on mid range settings, could my computer handle this game on a mid range graphic setting too?
I used to get 50fps and the game looked beautiful in bf3. Actually, why am i considering BF4 when bf3 is still installed and hasnt been played in over a year? I know what I'm doing now, lol.

The problem is that most console ported games are usually poorly optimized and will require a far greater system than it should. At least from my experience.
BF3 was actually pretty well optimized I thought, better so than bad company 2 for sure. I'm curious as to how bf4 stacks up.

Here are the Battlefield 4 requirements
The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:
Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 4 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 512 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
30+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista
Recommended system requirements
The recommended PC system requirements for optimal visual quality and frame rates:
Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
A modern DX11 graphics card with 2+ GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
Windows 7 64-bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
30+ GB of free harddrive space
I might be on in a bit. Sucking.

Those reqs aren't bad at all. Most of that stuff is ancient compared to what's out today. My specs are about what the recommended system specs are and I had 0 lag last night. FPS if I had to guess was in the 40-50s easy. My computer is also 1.5 years old. You definitely don't need anything mind boggling to play this game as far as I can tell.
I have a 2 page paper to write, and then I'll be on. I'll have more time tomorrow, but I"ll probably get an hour or so in today.
