I got a 1:44.6 after ten laps. Still on test drive, so no ghost. I usually chase my ghost and gain another second or two, so your 1:41/1:42 sounds right.

I'm up at 5.0 final drive though, everyone remembers we have a 6th gear, right?

Manual makes a huge difference. Shoot I think I still have TCS on too, that might help me in such a low powered car.

5.0 FD in a Mazda 2? I stopped at 4.30 I think, I'll try shortening it some more and see what happens. I thought I was nudging the redline in 6th at 4.30 on the longish semi-curved straight, but maybe not.

I guess I'll have to learn how to drive a manual. What buttons do you guys use for shifting with a controller?

B/X. Then once you're good at that, you use A to use the clutch. So upshift becomes AX, downshifts become AB, hit sort of simultaneously.

I ran a few laps yesterday in the Fiesta running manual w/clutch and pulled an average of 1:46 and I think one 1:44... ish. I haven't had time to mess with the transmission yet, but I know some adjustment will definitely bring my times down. I agree with the comment about the suggested brake lines - they're pretty silly.

I use B/X and the LB for the clutch. Everyone keeps talking about using A as the clutch, but I just can't see that working for me. Perhaps its worth a shot though.

How do you brake and downshift when using LB? You roll your thumb from A to B/X to upshift/downshift.

I use my index finger on LB for the clutch and my middle finger on the LT to brake.

Do you clutch before shifting? I find that triggering the clutch before the shift causes it to grind sometimes. I usually end up hitting B/X just before LB. Seems to work for me.

I don't know, do you move the shifter in your car before depressing the clutch? If it's grinding, you've released the clutch before you press the shift button.

To be honest, I didn't use it because it's too hard. Literally, if I don't press the button hard enough, it doesn't shift or activate the clutch.

Well that was fun, even for the low turn-out we had. The new guys picked up on it quick and we only had to restart once! I've uploaded the replay to my storefront if anyone would like to watch it. On to the results....
