I've always gotten away quite easy, even in a garbage truck or other slow POS. Just keep going, find some allyways and eventually you'll get there, even on 3 stars.
Also beat the main game yesterday, took me longer to watch the credits than doing all the missions. In for another 50+ hours of just mayhem

It is for sure much easier to die, which I like at times, not as much in others. Cars to me are much harder to damage, not easier. In GTA 4 you could hit a pole and completely crush in one side of the car up to the center of the car. Now you can hit a wall at full speed and barely crumple the front end. I also don't like that cars rarely catch fire or explode, unless you hit a wall just right.
Something else I noticed earlier, I have yet to be arrested. In all previous GTA's, I was as likely to be arrested as I was shot to death. If you came to a stop because of car damage, or fell down, the cops would rush you and hold you at gunpoint. Now, they just shoot to kill, no matter what. I've been shot to death for stealing a car, or even standing too close to a cop. WTF.

I am appalled by the lack of activity in this thread now that online has launched.
Its time to start MT.crew
Online was working for me last night. Made 25G and level 6 so far just doing story missions, holding up stores, and selling stolen cars.

I can't decide if I like the game or not. It seems they take some things too far and wish I could turn on a filter or something. Maybe its just me, but the stealing cars, shooting people and doing burnouts on dead hookers doesn't really bother me. It is the VO/scripts. I end up skipping or muting many of the cut scenes just because I don't feel like listening to the language. I know they do it to add realism, but I could just as easily be drawn in without it.
I just got trevor to Los Santos, so I'm not too far into the story.
