Default 06 Info?

Hello all, First want to say I enjoy this forum very much, Great information!

My ? is has anyone any info on boosting the new gen. Miata. I can't seem to find any info at all. I would really like to DIY my own turbo setup for it. I already have a turbo that I was going to use on a previous project, as well as an IC. I know the new Miata is totally new. Any help would be great...

They ever figure out the ECU on that thing? Isnt it a problem because theres no throttle cable?

I think the issue is packaging. Where to put the turbo or blower? Bell was working on a blower, but stopped dev. when Corky decided it would cost way too much money.

I doubt there will be a market for FI on the NC until they are about 4-5 years old.

I would think its a BIG problem. I'm sure there are ways to work around it, but maybe not? Not sure what effect boost would have on the fly by wire crap. I know there is a SC coming out soon. So it must be possable.

I think its that no body knows how to tap into the ecu. I mean its been a few years though, it was the same thing with the RX8 originally.

I was thinking SC at first. If the Battery was moved to the trunk, and stock air filter removed, which I would have to do anyway. There would be tons of room directly in front of the engine. Maybe a SC mounted in the reverse direction, pully facing the rear. But I'd rather do the turbo.

I think Bell had an NC running on the Xede.

Who is building the SC? Probably a vortec type of deal.

I feel a turbo would be easier to package, Put turbo where there is room, make header to match?

From the little bit of info I saw about the NC ECU, a piggy ain't gonna do nuthin. It multiplexes signals over common wires. And I don't think any company wants to take liability with their standalone running drive by wire throttle.

I think that the ECU has been chipped or reflashed already though.

+1, remote setup would make routing the exhaust easy, but maybe not so easy for the intake....
