Default Door Armrest Removal Project

So, first... has anybody seen this website:
http://www.zoom-eng.com/catalog/inde...0eef83d546225b
I think I really like the 2 gauge meter panel... never seen some of the products on this website. Obviously a JDM site, but some unusual stuff.

Now, on to my project... as usual a great idea has turned into a chore. At 6'4", I need all the room I can get. So, I removed the door armrests, which allows me to lay my leg over another two inches... VERY NICE!

But it left the door with these huge ugly indentations that I've been trying to cover up. Here's my first try. The material doesn't match anywhere close, and I learned something, so not a total waste of time. Back to the drawing board.

you could always work a design into it, kinda like on newer cars, there that random piece of fabric on the door, just to add to the design and give color

Are you talking about this?

I would buy it if it were available here.

why don't you just buy some vinyl and recover the lower door? I helped a buddy make new pressboard door panels without any holes and we recovered them in vinyl. They look sweet and it was easy to do...

Just recover the panels. Everything else will look like ***, as you've already found out There is someone on Miata.net selling blank ABS door panels that look pretty sweet at $40/pair.
