On the idea of p-port rotary.

Im not saying it goes out after like 200mi or anything.... and works well for a race car. But the miles/longevity that are put on daily driven engines seem to add up faster then a race-only car. Sure you can race a whole season on a p-port 13B, but you might only make it a years worth or a little more if you drive the car as a daily. That's all i was trying to say

I also think a VQ swap would be kinda cool..... 300hp stock n/a... potential of well over 400 with a low boost turbo kit.

Agreed a P-Port rotary has little place on the street, it's too freaking loud for starters. Imagine an open pipe p-port rotary on the street. VERY fast, VERY obnoxious. I know one of my customers could hear the P-Port on the dyno from a distance of 2 miles! Yes, it was that loud.

Its 26b if fuel injected or 24a if carbed when a 4 rotor. Its the same motor that is used on the renowen 787B mazda 24hr lamans car. I looked into buileding one but the accention shaft alone cost over $1700 for a 26b. If you want a 13b in your miata send a 87 fc3s gxl and a miata shell this way and a endless bank account for parts and fabing.
Oh and you missed one of the best shots http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKmR0EVYoSo

Carb vs injection has nothing to do with it. Rotor size not fueling makes the difference.

I think he is talking about the homemade 4 rotors and then it would matter as two 12a would only make 2.4L rotory which would be the 24a. Where two 13B would make a 2.6L rotory making a 26b.

I would love to see a real 26B, cause I seen a "fake" 26B at mazda mart. Think about having 4 spark plugs per rotor.

BTW if you want to do a 2J, your better off going 1j and someone has started the swap into the miata. He showed photos of the motor in the car and it fit without any real work, but he was using an auto tranny. There was never an follow up after the first few photos. Search on m.net.
