Default Haltech E6X

OK, for those who don't know, I work for Alamo Autosports in Arlington, TX (Dallas area). Just got word from Haltech that they have developed a plug-in adapter for the 1.6 Miata. So my question is:

Is there any interest in a package for the Haltech E6X w/ Plug-in Adapter and IAT Sensor.

If anyone has an other ideas what should be included, let me know. We carry Greddy, Innovate, lots of GM 3-bar MAPS, or just throw something else out there and we can see if we can get it all together for a good price.

Thanks

isn't the e6x like $1000, and it looks like it does everything MS does without boost control?

On a side note...how much to tune ignition timing on my car?

Tuning is a flat rate of $150/hr. That includes dyno pulls with wideband. We can schedule you for the 28th at the earliest, and any Tues or Thurs after that. Just let me know when you can make it. Saturdays are available on a limited basis.

I'm not gonna try to compare the two, cause I haven't dealed with either one yet. I am getting the E6X for my car in a few weeks and then I'll be more familiar with what the Haltech has, but just siting the 22X32 vs MS PNP 12X12 resolution, I can say that the Haltech will have more tunability. I'll have a better comparision when I have mine tuned, and I'll do a 15 psi tune just so we can compare it to the one done on the MS. It won't be a perfect comparision, due to all the different variables, but it will give a good idea.

I don't really see a market when the MSPNP is already here, cheaper, and just as good if not better.

The Haltech will have better inj control, timing control and fuel control. That will allow it to make more power, SAFER.

Well, I am trying to come up with a good package to sell it with. I need some ideas as to what you would like it packaged with.

Price for the E6X PNP alone is $1165.

One idea I have:

E6X PNP, 330cc inj, Greddy Turbo Kit, Walbro 255 FP, GM 3bar MAP - $2750

That price is not firm, need to get mine up and running with the Haltech to see if we need any other sensors, then we can give a hard price.

That is cheaper than the FM Voodoo I kit, alot more tunable, and has room to grow due to having the Walbro 255 and larger injectors.

Then you could up the boost by adding the Haltech Boost Solenoid for $150 ($140w/ kit) and a FMIC from Track Dog Racing. http://trackdogracing.com/website/in.../TDR-90MGR.htm

Anyone else have some ideas for packages?

probably its cheaper again to go with greddy and MSPNP. Im not sure that the resolution is enough of a reason to justify the cost.

Can we get the same care running both kits? Tuned and see power difference?

I'd like to see a price for the box, sensors and interface cable.

www.haltech.com

Convert to USD

www.xe.com

Take off 10%.

That's retail cost.

Any lower and Haltech will pull you as a dealer.

12X12 = 144 areas to tune

22X32 = 704 areas to tune

That's almost 5X the tuning area. That is ALOT of difference.

The difference between the MSPNP and the E6X PNP is around $250.

Someone bring me a MSPNP and we'll do both on my car.

OK, just got off the phone with Haltech....it has a built in MAP good for 20psi, and the PNP loom is included in the price of the E6X.

So the adjusted price is $2550 for the E6X/Greddy package.

I really hadn't looked into everything that is needed for the Haltech, I started this thread in hopes of getting an idea of what people wanted for a package, but the only thing needed for the Haltech that doesn't come in the E6X PNP is the IAT Sensor. The cost of the patch loom was included seperately on the previous price, and we don't need the GM 3bar, so the new price reflects that, but now includes the IAT Sensor.
So....

E6X PNP, IAT Sensor, 330cc inj, Greddy Turbo Kit, Walbro 255 FP - $2550

We can do larger injectors, like 440 or 550, but the price will go up by $40 or $80.

For miata users you will want to use the Walbro 190 when using the stock FPR. You'll find that you get more than enough fuel without the over fueling that the 255 can provide when on the stock regulator.

We don't sell 190s, only the 255. Never had an issues with them on any car, except that EVOs need 2 of them to make 500whp+.

Its more than 250 if the numbers you said earlier are accurate.

And yeah you doing multiplication doesnt do me any good. Show me a dyno plot to prove its better.

Im not being a dick I just havent seen the reason for this.

There is of course the high resolution option for MS users seeking more solution with their VE tables. Just to throw that out there.

I was the same way until I got my eyes opened by a real tuner. I showed him the MSPNP and mentioned that I was gonna use it on my Miata. He looked it over, and told me to get the Haltech cause I would be ALOT happier. He is currently in the Caribbean tuning race cars. Sometimes you just have to listen to people who know instead of people who think they know.

Instead of eitther of those crappy options, I would like dyno plots...

PS if he was any good he would be in the ******* carribean tuning cars. He would be in the carribean on vacationing or tuning cars.

well, that shop is going to fine tune my ignition in the next couple months, so maybe we'll have something on the same dyno. I image the OP will run the haltech...and can plug in my mspnp any time; although my car will be far from a stock 1.6

please, that extra resolution is not going to make any difference at all on a miata, you'll just have more bins to tune. these arent 1500hp supras.
so, can the haltech do EBC? because thats about 10x more useful than a little more resolution.
and there's always ms HR if you're that worried about it.
